KUCHING, SARAWAK, 15 July 2026 – Demanlink Connexion Sdn. Bhd. (“Demanlink”), a Sarawak-based telecommunications infrastructure company, together with U Mobile Sdn Bhd (”U Mobile”), Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, and Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (“BCCK”) today announced that the convention center is now 5G capable, made possible with U Mobile’s ULTRA5G network through the deployment of in-building coverage (IBC) solutions. The announcement was made at the Borneo International Water & Wastewater Exhibition & Conference (BIWWEC) 2026, where YB Dato Sri Haji Julaihi bin Haji Narawi, the Minister for Utility and Telecommunication for Sarawak was present to witness a 5G showcase by Demanlink. 

Demanlink has deployed 5G antennas throughout the convention centre, covering over 3,740 sqm. The deployment enables seamless 5G indoor connectivity across the venue, while ensuring reliable performance during periods where there are high-density crowds or peak data traffic. With indoor 5G coverage, BCCK will now be able to implement advanced 5G-enabled smart venue and event applications, such as high-quality livestreaming and hybrid event delivery, digital registration and ticketing, smart crowd management, and enhanced security operations. Supported by future-ready telecommunications infrastructure, this latest 5G indoor deployment and coverage really positions BCCK as a high-performance international event destination, capable of meeting the operational and experiential connectivity demands of large-scale events.
