(“EdgePoint”), the ASEAN-based independent telecommunications infrastructure
company, today announced the completed deployment of its Outdoor Common Antenna
System (CAS) at The Exchange TRX (“TRX”). The latest CAS builds on EdgePoint’s
earlier deployment of the 5G-ready infrastructure for the mall in January 2024,
providing seamless connectivity across the various properties in the 70-acre
development.
The solution, developed in collaboration with Mobile Network Operators in Malaysia over a period of two months to ensure all needs were met while maintaining an aesthetic design which blends into the surroundings increases the capacity and efficiency of the wireless signals, in-building and outside, of the development. This enhanced CAS coverage extends to TRX City Park, which sits on the rooftop of The Exchange TRX, addressing the high foot traffic and supporting the retail outlets at the park level. In total, the 1,300,000 square feet of the retail floor space in the mall, and now the outdoor retail outlets and parking levels, will experience faster and smoother connections for the shoppers and merchants alike.
EdgePoint designed the Outdoor Common Antenna Solution catering to multiple MNOs, to limit the number of antennas required and to ensure smooth approvals. The aesthetic design was created in collaboration with the MNOs, and deployed on-site in just one week, ensuring efficient signal distribution across the mixed-use development.
